Method
1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C / Gas 6.2. Take the plaice fillets and toss in the plain flour, dusting off any excess. Toss the fillets in the eff and then toss into the breadcrumbs. Place the fillets onto an oven tray and using a spray oil, given them a little spray. Bake for 12 minutes, turning the fillets half way through. Alternatively, you could fry the fillets in a frying pan instead if you prefer for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
3. To make the tartare sauce, mix together the mayonnaise, pickled walnuts, gherkins, Capers and chives with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
4. Take the farmhouse bread and generously butter 2 slices. Pop the plaice fillets onto the bread and squeeze on a little lemon on top. Add the watercress and a generous amount of the tartare sauce. Slice in half and serve immediately.
Tip
Rather than oven baking the fish, you could fry the fillets in a frying pan for about 3-4 minutes on each side.Ingredients
